Tooth Lake Project Update

The countdown is on! We are currently scheduled to start the dredging of Tooth Lake on or about August 15, 2007. (Changes to this date, if any, will be posted here.)

The construction start date is a couple of months behind the originally forecasted date.

This is due to a heavy rain season causing the contractor to fall behind, as well as a slight change in the proposed north wall repair plan. The original plan was to remove and replace a section of the damaged retaining wall. However, our engineering firm, Olsson Associates, advised that joining two different types of wall material would increase the likelihood of seepage behind the wall leading to continued wall damage. Olsson recommended the damaged wall be removed and the north bank be appropriately graded to prevent erosion. Therefore, we modified the scope of work per the recommendation of our engineering firm and we are now ready for construction.

If the neighborhood is in favor of replacing the entire wall (not a small section), the Board has projected that the Homes Association will be in a financial position to do so within five to seven years.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call one of your Board members.
